Spring Is Here!
Posted by Kathleen Logan on 31st Mar 2022
It was only a week ago that the ice on the lake sang a constant melody and now the Couts, Geese, Ducks and Eagles have taken up the song as the lake moves freely in the warmer winds of spring. The croci have bloomed at the base of the poplars and the wild tulips and daffodils have moved the earth aside in anticipation of blooming. I have readied the greenhouse and basil, tomato, cucumber, squash, onion, celery and lettuce seeds lay in trays transforming. My Dad keeps the wood stove going and the succulents and rosemary bloom and grow with joy.
Here at The Twisted Purl we are ready for spring. In April we are offering Learn to Knit Sock Classes. Beginners with Linda and Toe-Up Two at a time Magic Loop with Carol. Also Margaret has offered to do a Learn to Knit Class. The master knitters are in the house. All of these ladies make knitting the amazing art it is. They bring many years of practice and know how. What I really love about them is that they commit to the knitting process wholeheartedly. They understand the details and techniques and support people from where they are and help them get to where they want to go.
So if you are interested in learning to knit socks or improve your sock knitting this April, and May it will be happening at The Twisted Purl. We have chosen sock knitting in the spring so that you will have socks for the winter. Socks are great to knit in the warmth of this time of year. Light and easy to take any where.

Spring yarns made with cotton, linen, hemp, and silk, have arrived with abundance. Summer cardigans, tops and shawls are being made in between gardening and growing flowers and veggies. I love sitting on the porch after a day of a little too much weeding and sun with a knitting project and a cup of tea or cold drink relaxing in the joy of creation.
