There are two tops - a smaller one for smaller projects like socks, and a larger one for your sweaters, blankets, and other large items where you need a bit more space to do your repairs. The tops come off to make it easier to store, or for mending on the go!
To use a darning mushroom, place it inside the item you wish to repair, and stretch the item gently around it. You may find it helpful to use an elastic band to keep the item in place while you work on your repairs.
