Jawoll Silk Superwash is a beautiful fingering weight yarn. It's almost exactly the same as the classic Jawoll Superwash, containing a blend of Superwash Corriedale wool and nylon, but with 20% added Tussah silk. This type of silk is wild, obtained from the caterpillars or cocoons of free-living Japanese oak silk moths. The thread is also a little stronger than mulberry silk - an unwound cocoon usually yields a silk thread between 1200 to 1400 metres long.
Jawoll Silk will be FABULOUS for fancy socks and lend shine and drape to your shawl projects. Round, smooth, with a glint of silk.
